Lan Wangji is the perfect Lan disciple. He would take pride in this - were it not forbidden.
In truth, it is not something he ever needed to strive for. He had never fought to suppress lustful thoughts or feelings of jealousy and envy, because he had never experienced them. Silence and stoicism came easily.
Now, he feels off-balance, struggling to learn how to ward his body and mind against new feelings he barely comprehends.
This is irrational, Lan Wangji tells himself firmly.
Wei Wuxian is disrespectful.
Wei Wuxian is impertinent.
Wei Wuxian is disobedient.
